This is, in part, thanks to an inner focusing mechanism, which means that smaller, central elements are moved to focus as opposed to the larger elements at the end of the lens, which makes for more efficient autofocus operation.

Weather-sealed construction
20 seals positioned around the barrel stop moisture and dust from getting inside the lens, which means you can keep shooting in bad weather and hostile environments. The seals also protect the lens against temperatures as low as -10°C.

Advanced Optical Image Stabiliser
The XF18-135mmF3.5-5.6 R LM OIS WR features an optical image stabiliser that uses a high precision gyro sensor to detect and combat camera shake. With the stabiliser activated, you can shoot at shutter speeds up to five stops slower than normal.
